Pharrell Williams, the acclaimed musician, producer, and entrepreneur, was officially named Men’s Creative Director at Louis Vuitton on February 14, 2023, filling the high-profile role left vacant by Virgil Abloh’s passing in 2021.
The announcement marked a bold move for both Pharrell and LV’s parent company, LVMH, aligning fashion, celebrity, and culture in unprecedented ways. Pharrell’s journey to this prestigious position is rooted in his multifaceted influence across music, fashion, and design.
A 13-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Oscar nominee, he’s co-founded streetwear labels like Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream with Japanese designer Nigo, launched G-Star RAW’s RAW for the Oceans sustainable denim line in 2014, and more recently debuted his skincare brand, Humanrace, in 2021. His relationship with Louis Vuitton dates back two decades. In 2004, Pharrell collaborated directly with LV’s then-creative director Marc Jacobs on a limited-edition sunglasses line—a partnership renewed in 2008 .
