From depression and a tragic hard drive crash to a triumphant comeback, Jaredo’s Road to POA is winning hearts across Liberia and beyond.

Liberian Afropop sensation Jaredo has made a triumphant return with the release of his long-anticipated EP, Road to POA (Prince of Africa).
The project, which had been delayed for years due to personal and professional struggles, marks a new chapter in the young star’s journey.
Jaredo first captured attention in 2017 with his breakout single Wait for You featuring P.C.K., followed by the continental hit Your Waist with Ghana’s Kuami Eugene. But just as his career was gaining momentum, tragedy struck. In 2021, a hard drive crash wiped out over 800 unreleased songs—including collaborations with international stars and the original POA album.

The devastating loss, combined with depression and even a serious car accident, forced Jaredo to step away from the spotlight. After years of healing, Jaredo has emerged stronger. In April 2025, he dropped his comeback single Can’t Complain, followed by Blessings in June.
Now, with Road to POA, a 6-track teaser for the long-awaited full album, fans are finally seeing his resilience and artistry come full circle. The EP has already surpassed 500K streams on Audiomack, with three songs charting on Apple Music Liberia: To Be a Man (#21), Favor Me (#44), and I Dey Okay (#49). Fans have flooded social media with praise, calling the project “a masterpiece worth the wait” and hailing Jaredo as a symbol of perseverance in the Liberian music industry.
With Road to POA, Jaredo isn’t just reclaiming his crown—he’s reminding everyone why he was once hailed as Liberia’s Prince of Afropop.
