Grammy-winning producer immortalized in his hometown with street naming and weekend celebration
Virginia Beach, VA — Music icon and super-producer Timbaland has received one of the highest honors from his hometown: a street named in his honor. On October 19, 2025, the City of Virginia Beach officially unveiled “Timbaland Way”, recognizing the legendary hitmaker’s global impact and deep roots in the Hampton Roads community.
Born Timothy Zachery Mosley, Timbaland rose to fame crafting era-defining hits for artists like Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Justin Timberlake, and Jay-Z. His innovative sound helped shape modern hip-hop and R&B, earning him multiple Grammy Awards and a reputation as one of the most influential producers of his generation.
The street naming was part of the city’s three-day “Timbaland Way Weekend”, which included a parade, community events, and a special concert at The Norva featuring Timbaland and surprise guests.
