At Just 17, Darius Randell Becomes Youngest Goalscorer in MNUFC History

Liberian-Born Forward Continues Rapid Rise Through Minnesota United Ranks.

Darius Randell has etched his name into club history, becoming the youngest player ever to debut and score for Minnesota United FC at just 17 years old.

The Liberian-born forward’s milestone marks a defining moment in his rapidly rising professional career.

Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Randell moved to Minnesota at a young age and developed through the MNUFC Academy system.

His growth within the club’s youth structure quickly set him apart as one of the organization’s brightest prospects. In May 2025, his progress was rewarded with a first-team Homegrown Player contract running through 2026, with options extending beyond.
Randell wasted no time making an impact.

Shortly after signing, he found the back of the net in the U.S. Open Cup, showcasing composure and maturity beyond his years. During the 2025 MLS season, he made four first-team appearances while maintaining a perfect 100 percent pass completion rate. With MNUFC2 in MLS NEXT Pro, he added four goals and one assist, further highlighting his attacking potential.

His historic debut and goal signal not only personal achievement but also the success of Minnesota United’s academy pipeline, positioning Randell as a promising figure for both club and country.
