Huskers star makes program history with Ameche-Dayne Award
Nebraska junior running back Emmett Johnson has been named the Ameche‑Dayne Big Ten Running Back of the Year after a dominant 2025 season that rewrote the Huskers record book.



Johnson became the first player in program history to win the conference’s top running back honor, earning first‑team All‑Big Ten recognition from both coaches and media.
He rushed for 1,451 yards and 15 total touchdowns, leading the Big Ten in rushing, all‑purpose yards, and yards per game while posting eight 100‑yard rushing performances that consistently fueled Nebraska’s offense
