Was the FBI Really Raiding a Gallery? Inside a Genius Film Promotion

It seems there was a buzz recently about an FBI raid at a New York City art gallery on March 13 2025, but it turns out it was all a staged performance!
The event was part of a promotional stunt for a film called Any Day Now, which is based on the infamous Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist of 1990. The heist involved the theft of 13 priceless artworks, including Rembrandt’s Storm on the Sea of Galilee, and remains unsolved to this day.The staged “raid” was designed to mimic the recovery of one of these stolen masterpieces, but the painting in question was actually a reproduction.

The performance was organized by a group called “13 Masterpieces” to draw attention to the unsolved heist and the upcoming film. What do you think about using art and performance to highlight historical mysteries like this?
