TRAPCO Rapper Barsee Parts Ways with Dayee Record Following Prolonged Dispute

TRAPCO artist Barsee has officially ended his partnership with Dayee Record, the label he’s been signed to for the past five years.

The news broke early this morning when the rapper took to Instagram to announce his departure, citing unmet expectations and contract issues as the primary reasons.

According to Barsee, the label failed to uphold its side of a 60-month agreement that was meant to support the growth of his music career. In his statement, Barsee expressed frustration over the lack of progress and attention he received under the label, saying that promises made at the time of signing were not fulfilled.

In a later written communication to Dayee Record, Barsee reportedly made efforts to reconcile, hoping the label would begin to invest more seriously in his artistry. However, with no tangible improvement or renegotiated terms in sight, he made the decision to walk away.

“This wasn’t an easy choice, but it’s one I had to make for the sake of my future and my music,” Barsee shared in his post.

Fans and industry peers have already begun speculating about Barsee’s next move, with many expecting him to go independent or join another rising label that better aligns with his ambitions. As one of TRAPCO’s most recognizable voices, his departure marks a notable shift in Liberia’s hip-hop landscape.

Barsee has yet to announce any new affiliations or projects, but he assured supporters that new music is on the way and that this split marks a new chapter—not an end.
